Onyema Football Club have booked their place in the final of the 2026 Imo State Football Association League after defeating Hawks FC 8-7 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The victory keeps Onyema FC on course for a place in the Nationwide League Division Two playoffs, as the Imo FA League champions will earn the state’s ticket to the national playoff.
Onyema FC will now await the winner of the second semifinal between Elite FC and Akabo United FC. Elite FC secured their place in the last four with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Evermore FC, while Akabo United FC progressed automatically to the semifinal.
The winner of the Elite FC versus Akabo United FC encounter will face Onyema FC in the final of the 2026 Imo State Football Association League.
The decisive match is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Practice Pitch, Owerri, with kickoff set for 10:00 a.m.
The winner of the final will be crowned 2026 Imo State Football Association League champions and will represent Imo State at the Nationwide League Division Two playoffs.
