Technical Adviser Majin Mohammed has expressed confidence that Niger Tornadoes can revive their struggling campaign as the team prepares for two crucial back-to-back home fixtures against Kano Pillars and Rivers United.
The Minna-based side will host the two matches in urgent need of momentum as they seek to end a troubling run of five games without a win. The poor streak has seen the team slip down the league standings, increasing pressure on the coaching staff and players to deliver results.
Majin acknowledged the situation and admitted that the team must take collective responsibility to turn things around. “There are no more excuses. It is time for everyone to roll up their sleeves and show their true loyalty to the team,” the coach said.
He also called on the more experienced players in the squad to step forward during this difficult period. “It is time for the most experienced players in the team to demonstrate their leadership. Every player must play for the badge and for the fans who have remained solidly behind the team,” he added.
Popularly known as the “Aje Winger” during his playing days, Majin Mohammed noted that dips in form are common in football and even the strongest teams go through difficult spells. However, he stressed that the team’s response will define their professionalism and character.
“Every top team experiences periods like this. What matters is how we react and come out of it.
This is a wake-up call for everyone associated with the club — management, coaches, players, and supporters — to rally around the team,” he said.
Despite recent setbacks, that led to a three-game ultimatum for the technical crew, out of which a defeat was recorded in Jos against Plateau United, Coach Majin is still confident Niger Tornadoes will bounce back, starting with their matchup against Kano Pillars this weekend.
