Heartland FC leading scorer Joel Okoro has expressed strong confidence ahead of the club’s crucial encounter with Smart City FC in the Nigeria National League this weekend.
Okoro, who has been one of the standout performers for the Heartland FC this season, believes the team is fully prepared for the challenge and determined to secure maximum points from the encounter.
Speaking ahead of the match, the forward acknowledged the quality of their opponents but insisted that Heartland remain focused on delivering a solid performance.
“We know it will be a tough game because Smart City are a good side,” Okoro said. “But we have prepared well, and as a team we are determined to give our best.
“My job as a striker is to help the team with goals, but the most important thing is for us to win.”
The in-form attacker, whose goals have been vital to Heartland’s campaign so far, maintained that while personal form is encouraging, collective success remains the club’s priority.
With the Naze Millionaires pushing for a strong position in the league standings, the clash against Smart City is expected to be another important test of their ambitions as the campaign gathers momentum.
