Onyeocha Flags Off Cancer Awareness Golf Kitty in Obinze

The Imo State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Obinna Onyeocha, on Saturday flagged off the Cancer Awareness Golf Kitty held at the Arsenal Golf Club, Obinze, Imo State.

Speaking at the event, Onyeocha stressed the importance of teamwork, discipline, and preparation in both sports and the fight against cancer. He said awareness serves as the game plan, screening as the defense, and healthy living as the training routine needed to reduce the risk of the disease.

He further emphasized that early detection through regular medical checkups offers the best chance of survival, while community support remains vital for those affected.

The event attracted golfers, sports enthusiasts, health advocates, and community leaders, who combined sporting activity with advocacy for greater cancer awareness across the state.
