Following the decision of the Delta State Sports Commission, owners and sponsor of Delta Queens Football Club to dissolve the club’s current structure as contained in a recent press release on 8th of may 2025 reference 32/111/34 signed by the director of information and public Relations of the sports commission, the Players Union, National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers NANPF has written officially to the Delta sports commission to follow due process in the disengagement of players still under contract with the Club
Reacting to the news of the club’s dissolution the players union has advised and requested the sports commission to do due diligence by following laid down league rules and football regulations governing the status and transfer of players by ensureing that the players dropped are not short changed and denied their rights and entitlements as they are relieved from their contract of employment in whatever guise.
The Union will not fold her hands and gloss over issues affecting the welfare and rights of the players, particularly those whos contracts are still subsisting.
In view of this development, the players union NANPF, advice and request all player’s affected by the clubs dissolution to contact the Secretary of the Women Wing of the players union on ..08033653883…… for further deliberations
