Monimichelle CEO Slams Blackmail Over Aper Aku Stadium Upgrade

By Silvernews

Monimichelle Sports CEO, Mr Ebi Egbe, has addressed the backlash surrounding the ongoing upgrade of the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, revealing that the company was never contracted for a total overhaul.

“The original contract was for the main bowl facilities only,” Ebie said. “We took on additional work — including medical rooms, referee areas, and more — following directives from the Governor and NFF, without upfront payment.”

Ebie stated only 70% of the original sum has been paid, with extra work still awaiting funding. He accused aggrieved contractors of spreading falsehoods after losing out on the project.

“We’re transparent and committed. Corruption and blackmail won’t derail our quality delivery,” he said.

He called on the public to compare project costs with ongoing stadium upgrades in Warri and Enugu, stating, “N1.7 billion can’t meet FIFA/CAF standards for a substandard 10,000-seat stadium.”
