AVM Udeagulu Buries Mother-in-Law in Grand Ceremony at Iwollo

The former Commandant of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) C.N. Udeagulu, alongside his wife, Mrs. Chike Easter Udeagulu, laid his mother-in-law, the late Mrs. Rose Onwumelu, to rest in a grand burial ceremony held in Iwollo Oghe, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State. The solemn event was attended by dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their last respects. A holy mass was held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Iwollo Oghe.

In a show of solidarity, members of the Nigerian Defence Academy Course 36 turned out in large numbers to support their colleague. The delegation, led by AVM Ogbeche, included top military officers such as General Azinta, General M.O. Uzo, and the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, AVM Shinkafe and Air Commodore Ikpa, representative of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Olataye.

Traditional rulers, led by HRH Eze Oha I of Eke, Igwe Herold Onuoha, were also present to pay their respects.

The burial ceremony was a colorful and elaborate affair, marked by rich cultural displays. The Enugu State Arts and Culture troupe entertained guests with traditional performances, adding a touch of glamour to the occasion. A popular dance group also thrilled attendees, reflecting the deep cultural heritage of the region.

Friends, family, and associates described the late Mrs. Rose Onwumelu as a kind-hearted and virtuous woman who positively impacted the lives of many. The event concluded with prayers and heartfelt tributes in her honor, leaving a lasting memory of her legacy.
