The people of Isialangwa are set to honour one of their own, Officer Ugochukwu Orji, in a grand civic reception scheduled for tomorrow, which also celebrates the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti.
Rt. Hon. Ginger O. Onwusibe, the Member representing Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency, confirmed the development in an official statement on Thursday. According to the lawmaker, arrangements have been concluded to ensure Officer Orji’s attendance at the event, which is expected to draw dignitaries and well-wishers from across the state.
Hon. Onwusibe disclosed that he has formally written to the Nigeria Immigration Service, requesting the temporary release of Officer Orji to participate in the occasion. He further revealed that the officer’s flight ticket and other logistical requirements have been fully taken care of.
Officer Ugochukwu Orji, popularly known as Officer Okeosisi Ugo, hails from Obikabia in Isialangwa North Local Government Area. He is being honoured for exemplary integrity and professionalism in the discharge of his duties. His act of courage—rejecting a N10 million bribe and several expensive phones offered by a native doctor from Enugu State allegedly attempting to evade justice—has earned him widespread praise.
The recognition of Officer Orji is being hailed as a defining moment for Isialangwa and Abia State, highlighting not only the celebration of leadership through Governor Otti, but also a deep appreciation for integrity and moral uprightness.
