Eziala Ogwu Nguru Nwenkwo Autonomous Community was aglow with joy and grandeur last weekend as friends, family, dignitaries, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the coronation of Nze, Sir, Peace Ambassador Kissinger Njoku Egbe—fondly titled Ome Udo Nkembu I—as a newly installed Nze.
The colorful event was graced by His Royal Highness, Eze Demion Njoku Ekwueme II of Nguru Nwenkwo, who served as the Special Guest of Honour, accompanied by his royal cabinet. The ceremony also featured a special appearance by the revered Ise Nze Desmond Mbachu, adding even more prestige to the momentous occasion.
The arrival of the royal entourage and esteemed guests brought the community to life, with cultural displays, traditional music, and the warmth of communal celebration. In his address, the Youth Leader of Eziala Ogwu, Mr. Ugochukwu Nwachukwu_ Agbada, highlighted that the coronation of Nze Kissinger was a testament to his unrelenting desire to restore peace and unity in a community once torn apart by a decade of internal conflict.
A new dawn began when High Chief Uche Nwagwu, a respected son of the soil, led a roadmap for peace, ably supported by Nze Kissinger and other patriotic citizens. For his significant contributions to healing and community development, Kissinger was honored with the prestigious Nze title.
A UK-based medical expert, Nze Sir Kissinger has dedicated his life to service, not just in the field of healthcare, but also in humanitarian efforts that have touched lives in Eziala Ogwu and beyond.
A Life of Service and Legacy
Born on December 4, 1960, to Mr. James Njokuegbe and Mrs. Bridget Njokuegbe of Umuarugwu, Eziala Ogwu Nguru Mbaise, Imo State, Kissinger’s early life was marked by resilience and purpose. He began his education at St. Mary’s Primary School, Umuopara, in 1970—his academic journey interrupted by the Nigerian Civil War.
In 1976, he joined Isunjaba Comprehensive Secondary School as one of its pioneer students before transferring to Obizi High School Ezinihitte Mbaise in 1978, under the mentorship of the late Principal James Nworgu and the iconic teacher Godfrey Opara (Nnayi Ukwu Oba).
During his senior years, he earned the rare trust of his school authorities, serving as a storekeeper—an early sign of the leadership and integrity that would define his path.
Though he aspired to become a doctor, fate led him to nursing. With encouragement from his father, he enrolled in Queen Elizabeth Specialist Hospital, Umuahia, where he trained as a nurse and graduated in 1985.
His professional journey took him to Port Harcourt in 1986, where he joined Sedco Forex Schlumberger as a rig nurse before becoming the first Nigerian nurse employed by Western Geophysical, later attending specialized training at Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
A Divine Journey Across Continents
In the turbulent 1990s, political instability in Nigeria prompted a life-altering decision. In 1998, inspired by his idol Nelson Mandela, Kissinger attempted to migrate to South Africa. Although initially deported, he felt divinely led and persisted through six months of hardship, eventually reaching South Africa where he passed the required nursing exams.
By 1999, he was employed at Pretoria Academic Hospital, excelling in intensive care and emergency services. His brilliance saw him recruited to the UK in 2002 as an expatriate nurse at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
He later took a senior post at Lewisham Hospital and pursued further studies at University College London, specializing in High Dependency Nursing. Since 2008, he has worked independently as a Nurse Consultant, running his own healthcare company which made him the 1st Eziala Ogwu citizen to become a British Citizen in UK.

A proud father of five children, Nze Sir Kissinger Njoku Egbe’s life is a shining example of resilience, purpose, and dedication to service. His coronation as Ome Udo Nkembu I reflects not just his achievements, but the trust and love of a grateful community.
As the celebration echoed through Eziala Ogwu, it was clear: a new era of peace and progress has begun.
