Amaraizu Mmesoma Maryanne, daughter of Coach Ebere Amaraizu, has expressed immense excitement after emerging as the best graduating student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the 2023/2024 academic session at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Silver News reports.
Maryanne, who earned First Class Honours with an impressive CGPA of 4.73 on a 5.00 scale, was also the recipient of Nigeria’s First Lady’s Award.
Speaking shortly after the convocation ceremony held on December 6, 2024, at FUTO, she expressed gratitude to her family for their unwavering support throughout her academic journey.
She said:
“I am really excited. It was a shock for me to find out that I am the best female in the whole school. I am grateful to God.
“Everybody influenced me in one way or another. I am very happy to be one of the ladies representing the very few percentage. I am happy to see that we are dominating this space.
“I thank my entire family for their invaluable support and encouragement throughout my time in school. Their belief in me pushed me to achieve more. I am especially grateful to my parents and siblings for their sacrifices and unwavering guidance.
“Coming from parents who are disciplined and serve as role models has helped me immensely. They always reminded me of the importance of discipline and putting God first in all I do. They instilled in us the ability to believe in ourselves, to think outside the box, and to keep our eyes on the ball.
“I cannot thank them enough. Despite their busy schedules, they were always there to guide and support me. I pray that God continues to strengthen them.”
Silver News gathered that Maryanne’s outstanding academic performance placed her at the top of her class, marking a significant milestone in her academic journey.
