The talent hunt program of Maureen Mmadu Football Academy entered its third day Sunday with the appearance of Chikelue ‘General’ Iloenyosi as the major talking point, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
Iloenyosi, a former Nigeria international, is current Anambra FA Chairman. The atmosphere at Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha, took a positive boost the moment the former Super Eagles defender arrived the venue with shouts of ‘Geneeal’ reverberating from all corners of the stadium.
Iloenyosi was later presented with a jersey courtesy of Dan Eggen, the Norwegian Scout who came with his son.
“On behalf of Maureen Mmadu Football Academy, I present this jersey to you”, Eggen said as he presented the kit to Iloenyosi.
Iloenyosi would later engage in photo session with the organisers, teams and Dan Wggen amongst others.
He equally took the ceremonial kick off of the day’s opening match between Maureen Mmadu FA and Anambra Rovers FA. The game ended one goal apiece.
That was not the only talking point of the day. Dan Eggen, the Norwegian Scout, was a former teammate of Nigeria defender, Uche ‘Gentle Giant- Okechukwu, at Brondby FC, Denmark.
Immediately he was told that the ‘Gentle Giant’ is in the country, he sought for his contact and gave him a phone call. Both spent time on the phone sharing intimacy and relieving old good moments at Brondby FC, Denmark. It proved a reunion of sort.
