Ndi Eze Mbaise in general and Ndi Eze Ahiazu in particular, who are to host the 2014 Iriji Mbaise cultural festival have debunked the purported claim in some quarters of none participation of Ndi Eze Mbaise in the 2024 cultural festival, describing it as “fake News!”
Addressing a Press Conference at Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area headquarters, Eze, Ezeji B. C. Onuoha, JP Ohanyere the second, Akaraka 1 of Mbaise emphasized that Ndi Eze are the Custodians of Culture and Traditions, who must take their place in Mbaise Land for Ndi Ezeji who are the Custodians of Yam to perform the annual Yam Traditions of Iriji Mbaise.
He noted that if Ndi Eze are not there, it’s no more Culture and Tradition because their Authority over the people is a life time Authority and has no time frame.
According to him, Ndi Eze Mbaise had laid curses on anyone who would cause trouble in Mbaise Land, and with that, the Land is ready for Iriji Mbaise 2024 as it is normally done.
He invited all and sundry to come to Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area field on August 15, to participate in the customs and traditions of Mbaise Land , promising that it will be an exciting one.
HRH Eze P. C. Onuoha equally presented a rebuttal signed by the Chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise Traditional Rulers Council, HRH Eze Sabinus Nwaneche, the Deputy Chairmn, HRH Eze S. P. Iwu and twenty others, which read that Ndi Eze Mbaise will collectively and individually participate in the 2024 annual Iriji Mbaise 2024 and subsequent years, stressing that and subsequent years, stressing that Ndi Eze Mbaise never agreed with anybody not to attend the annual Cultural Festival holding in Ahiazu Mbaise on August 15, 2024.
Ndi Eze Mbaise described the false claims circulated in the Social Media as egregious lie by mischief makers as Ndi Eze Mbaise remains the Chief Security Officers in the 93 Autonomous Communities that make up Mbaise Nation, and cannot shy away from their responsibility in such an annual event.
Also speaking, the President General of Ndi Ezeji Mbaise, Ezeji Greg Ikeagwu expressed happiness that Ndi Eze Mbaise have refuted the false claims, which has boosted his confidence, pointing out that Ndi Eze had been lethargic, against their Divine presence as Custodians of Culture and Traditions of the Land.
On his part, Ezeji Kachi Nwoga, commended Ndi Eze Mbaise for responding to the call as God will not be happy that the Tradition handed down to the present Generation dies in their hands.
“Ndi Eze are Landlords in Mbaise and if the Traditional Rulers are not in support of the landmark Event, the invited guests will feel unwelcomed. Ndi Eze are to welcome the invited guests on that day. Ndi Ezeji will perform the tradition and the people will happily participate in the landmark festival”. Ezeji Kachi Nwoga stated, while moderating the whole outing.
Also on his part, HRH Eze Ezeji Nick Nwahiri who asked to be excused of not attending previous meetings for the Iriji 2024 due to not noticing the meeting notifications, encouraged Ndi Ezeji to keep up the good works and prayed for the success of the event.
