Scrabble will take centre stage again at the Imo State Sports Commission weekend sports at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri.
The event has already brought relief to Scrabble players in the state who are afraid the game may go into extinction following the relegation of the sport to the background of sports in the state in the last few years.
Speaking ahead of the game, Chairman of the Association, Engr Bede Chinedu Okorie said there are plans in place to return the game as a force to reckon with at the next Sports Festival in Ogun State come this November.
The players and coaches led by Coach Oruafor Solomon called on sports lovers in the state to troupe out to support them as they work hard to restore the game in the state.
The game comes up at 9am at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri.
The Chairman of the Association, the Director Imo State Sports Commission, Mrs Patricia Ezeji, Directors and Coaches will be among the dignitaries that will be at the stadium today to witness the game.
