Club Friendly: Mathew Amadi FC Seek Revenge Mission Against State Sports Commission

Matthew Amadi Football Club will embark on a revenge mission against Imo State Sports Commission team for the return leg of their interclub friendly game at the iconic Tetlow road Stadium Owerri.

The Ngor Okpala home boys, who lost gallantly in the first game, a week ago due to the inability of the referee to understand the rules of the game will have the full compliment of her players for the game with the return of Nkwocha Prosper and the first team goal keeper, Junior Amadi to the squad after limping out of the last game due to injuries.


Speaking ahead of the encounter, General Manager of the team, Mr Kampala Augustine Ekechi said the players has been provided with all the needed materials to perform in any condition they found themselves unlike the first leg where the poor state of the pitch affected the performance of the boys.

He promised supporters of the team that they will not have reason to worry as the boys are in good shape for the game which has been tagged the battle of Owerri by the supporters and players of the team.

The captain of the team, Eleanya Tochi and first choice goal keeper, Junior Amadi said the players are determine to rewrite the scoreline of the past game and has put in hard work for the encounter with the Ramsom Madu led team.

The encounter that is coming up at the Tetlow Road Stadium Owerri will have both the Commissioner of Sports, Hon Obinna Onyeocha and Chairman, Imo State Sports Commission, Prince Eleaza Ogbonna in the stadium to watch the best of football.

The team, which is a dream child of Dr Matthew Chima Amadi Football Competition in Umuekwene, Ngor Okpala will embark on a week long playing tour across the states in the South-East to showcase the players to football teams across the country.


Already, players discovered from the seven years competition have established themselves in various division of Nigeria Football in the past season.

The coach Kennedy Onwunali led team has shown promises in the past ten games in the last two months as a team to be reckoned with in the state and country.

Also, with arrangement to play in the professional level in the next five years starting with a position in the NLO one for the next football season.
