“My Goal is to Play for Super Eagles” – Kelechi Alino




Heartland FC attacker, Kelechi Alino has revealed that his goal is to represent Nigeria in the senior men’s football team, Silvernews.com.ng reports.

The former captain of the New York City FC Under 17 said he returned to Nigeria in order to achieve his dreams noting that it will be an honour to play for the Super Eagles.

Alino, who made his debut for Heartland against Akwa United and played against Doma United described the team as a work in progress with lots of potentials.

“In Nigeria there is much physicality, players really want to play football. For me its focussing on finishing up the season. My goal is to play for the Super Eagles. Nigeria is my country as much as I am born in U.S. It will be an honour for me to play for my country. This is where I will love to play.

“I feel very good. The most important thing is the team’s performance. We fought very hard to get those goals and the win meant a lot. As far as my performance, I love football and I feel I was able to contribute.

“I was very pleased to contribute and how we performed. I first came here few months ago. I joined late, halfway into the season. It’s a very good team and there is much potentials.”
