The Manager and Agent of Chijioke Mbaoma – leading goals scorer of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Chuks Ozurumba has explained why Finidi George didn’t invite the Enyimba FC attacking sensation to the Super Eagles, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
Mbaoma, who is currently on 15 goals for the People’s Elephants of Aba has been a key figure to his team in the ongoing 2023/2024 NPFL season.
Ozurumba explained that Enyimba needs him most right now in their quest to defend the league title, especially the crucial game with Rangers International in Enugu.
The Chairman of Umuakuma United Football Club also revealed that a decision is yet to be determined on the next destination of one of the league’s hottest property noting that such decision on his next move will be known after the end of the season.
“Managing Chijioke Mbaoma is a very good thing that can inspire any manager to manage a player. Managing a player and seeing the progress of the player everyday by day, he improves in his game and improves in every of his playing career. He is also a player who listens to advice, takes his career very serious.
“A lot of clubs are bugging my line because of him. The only thing we want to do is to finish the season. After the season, then we will now decide on where or how to. Even Enyimba wants him to extend his contract. We cannot make any decision at the moment because I really need to discuss with the management of Enyimba.
“The coach that brought him to Enyimba is the same Head Coach of the national team today. He knows the quality of the player but when you check at the league table, Enyimba needs Mbaoma most right now. Every Nigeria defender knows him and are afraid of him. Right now they are preparing for the two matches and we don’t know how it will look at without the presence of Mbaoma striking force.”
