South East Women Football Association has congratulated the national under 17 women team, the Flamingos for their 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso in last Saturday’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup African qualification series third round, first leg encounter.
In a statement made available to the media by the PRO of the elite South East Women Football Association, Mr Kennedy Onwunali urged the team to finish the job in the second leg in Nigeria.
He expressed excitement at the performance of the highest goal scorer at the first edition of the South East Women Football League held in Owerri.
Harmony Chidi scored the only goal of the day for the Flamingos to take her goal tally to six in three games for the country.
The Chairman of the body, Coach Alex of Awka Angels said last year’s competition was a success because of the hard work put in place by the association and the hosts city Owerri.
He urged all the women team in the zone to be affiliated and register for the 2024 edition in Anambra state that will hold in August.
