The Head of Media and Publicity, Strategic partners to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), GTI Asset Management and Trust Limited, Andrew Ekejiuba said the company supported the finals of the 2024 Federation Cup across the states of the federation, Silvernews.com.ng reports.

Ekejiuba revealed further that GTI are not relenting in their efforts of ensuring that Nigerian football is regenerated and repositioned.

He hailed the underdogs, who have demonstrated their mettle as grassroots teams adding that it will further add glamour to the competition.

Recall that Nigeria’s foremost investment banking firm, GTI Asset Management and Trust Limited signed a strategic partnership deal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to further enhance the efficient management of the FA Cup.

He said: “It showed a true picture of what GTI tends to do with Nigeria football from the grassroots. The FA Cup has given unknown clubs the opportunity to showcase the skills they have beating big teams and trying to ensure that they also benefit from the magnanimity of GTI, who are currently strategic partners to the Nigeria Football Federation as far as the FA Cup is concerned.

“Every person wants to really demonstrate something in their Arsenal from the grassroots level. The big teams falling off and the younger and unknown teams move fast and rearing up their heads.

“Football in Nigeria is undergoing a quite systematic revolution and restructuring. The last outing at the Nations Cup really gave us the reason that a well prepared league, a well repositioned league, a well-packaged league can trump up good players no matter where you are playing.

“We at GTI, we want to see how we can regenerate and reposition our football, making sure that quality players play for the national team. We are not relenting. It is a very long project we are into it. I am thanking God that our efforts is beginning to yield dividends.

“All the 35 states except Yobe State and the FCT got support from GTI. The NFF wrote to GTI and ensured that all the State FAs were supported. That is why we are strategic partners.

“It’s going to be a celebration of fantastic football. You will see that something good can come out of the FA Cup. How we used to see it in the past, that is where we are heading to. Fans will be well taken care of in terms of quality of play and quality of officiating.

“In the FA Cup, disciplinary measures will be meted out to the erring referees or officials who don’t really stick to the rules and regulations of the game.”
