After a false start scare, Tobi Amusan flew to an easy win in the women’s 100mH final at the African Games, clocking a time of 12.89s (-2.1).
She completed a hat-trick of African Games titles with that win and defeated Sidonie Fiadanantsoa, who ran 13.19s to finish 2nd. Her compatriot, Faith Osamuyi missed out on a podium finish as she ran 13.77s in 4th place.
Following her triumphs in Brazzaville 2015, Rabat 2019, and today in Accra 2023, the world record holder extends her record of being the only athlete to have won it more than twice.
