Imo FA Chairman Seeks Sponsorship From Corporate Individuals to Support Competitions in Imo

The Chairman, Imo State Football Association, Barr. Ifeanyi Dike has called on corporate individuals to support football competitions in the state, Silvernews.com.ng reports.

According to Dike, the State FA are making frantic efforts to educate Nigerians on the benefits of taking advantage of football business.

On the issue of Imo State League, Dike said they will commence the league after getting approval from the NFF through the NLO adding that they are excited with the commencement of the Federation Cup.

He said: “We are happy about it which is the oldest competition in the history of football. We are so happy as directed by NFF that all states must commence by 1st of March and conclude before or on the 30th of March. We are set and happy about it because we have everything on ground to commence.

“It is a competition where everybody pays the same amount registering for the competition. It will not be fair keeping anybody standby or ask anybody to wait.

“Football is fair play. Fair play is equity and it demands that what is good for Mr. A is also good for Mr. B. We are looking at everybody being treated the same way and manner.

Our league and other states league will commence immediately NFF by NLO gives us nudge to go ahead. Winners of the league will emerge representatives of the state at the NLO levels.

“The moment NLO starts, they will give nudge to the states to go on with league. We must avoid and NLO will starts. A lot of people have indicated interest because when they are ready to register.

“I am appealing that they should help us in doing ths right thing by giving full sponsorship to the competition so that it will produce results.

“I am making efforts to start educating and give reorientation to corporate individuals in the state on the advantages and merits of being in football.

“A lot of people have messed people’s money up make organisation of this competition up that made these corporate individuals to be reluctant and shy away for sponsorship.”
