Following the Super Eagles failure to lift the 2023 AFCON to hosts Cote d’Ivoire, A football coach and Olympic Solidarity sports administrator/ manager, Ebere Amaraizu has faulted Jose Peseiro’s tactical inputs, Silvernews.com.ng reports.
According to Amaraizu the Super Eagles coach failed to manage the game, saying that je relied on luck to win games.
His words: “You can’t continue playing anti football and expect positive result every time. Cote D’Ivoire by all standards were the better team, they controlled the match from start to finish.
“The played with purpose and vigour, you could see the zeal in them, you could Sense the seriousness in them.
“They wanted it more, they were intentional about what they want achieve in the biggest stage of African football.
“Even at 1:0 down, you could see that they believed in themselves, they knew if they give it a shot they might nick it and they did just that comfortably.
“It was as if they were playing against a secondary school team from Aba or Shagamu who were bereft of ideas.
“This has shown us that you can’t rely solely on luck all the time to win games. Sometimes you need to dig deep which is something Super Eagles players and coaching crew failed to do.
“Tactical ineptitude of the manager was ones again exposed at the highest stage of African football.
“A good coach, seeing that Cote D’Ivoire were dominating the midfield would have probably changed his pattern to 4:3:3 formation in other to balance the deficiency in the midfield.
“Ask the best coaches in the world they would tell you that the best form of defense is to attack.
“No service to Victor Osimhen who remained Isolated all 90 minutes. Plenty of talking points from this match I must say.”
