Imo Strikers Queens Goes On Christmas Break

Players and officials of Imo Strikers Queens have gone on Christmas break after winning three major trophies across the country, Wakawaka Sports Extra reports.

The Ikeduru based club began the year by winning the Soccer Queens tournament in Lokoja, with Harmony Chidi emerging as the highest goals scorer.

This was followed with another victory at Sherose Football Competition in Abuja where Harmony emerged as the top scorer and ended the year with victory at the ICMC in Asaba.

Harmony created a national record by scoring 14 goals in six games while the defense led by Prisca Nwachukwu and the midfield remained the heart of the team as they were able to hold their own in all the competitions.

The team which narrowly lost the South-East Women Football Championship to Heartland Queens last August capped the year with the season ending competition in Asaba.

The team returned to their base and undertook vocational lessons before proceeding on the Christmas break.

Coach Nelly Olisakwe led team, according to information made available to the media by the CEO of the club, Prince Chidi said that they will return to training by January 2024.
