Coach Ezekiel Onyegbulem of Apex Krane of Asaba has lauded his players for winning the Delta State FA Cup.
The Nigeria National League, NNL, side defeated Osaven FC of Kwale in the final to cap off a smooth run in the competition.
Tutored by the very best, Apex Krane earned their first major title under Coach Onyegbulem, who joined the team when they were languishing at the bottom of the league.
In his post-match thoughts with Wakawaka Sports Extra, Onyegbulem thanked the management for the support, while acknowledging his players for putting in their best having tutored them.
He expressed optimism that his team will escape the drop, noting that the management and supporters of the team are greatly behind them.
He went further to say that his success story so far in the team, hinges on the ability of the players to understand his methodology.
“I want to thank the management of Apex Krane for giving me the opportunity to showcase what I have. Thumbs up to the players who are getting my methodology and all I brought to the team. They understood what I taught them and delivered by two goals.
“I want to thank the teeming fans who have come to support the team. Ever since I came, I feel at home and the players keep progressing from one game to another.
“I came for two major reasons; to bring the team off the relegation zone which am doing gradually and to win the FA Cup which I have done today.
“I have also tried to get the players know what I want and at the end of the day they started getting it right, one game to the other.
“And today we have won a major trophy in the state and we are pushing harder to see how we can move the team out of relegation zone.”
