Imo Strikers Queens appreciate Imolites for support

The CEO of the youngest woman Football team in Nigeria, Imo Strikers Queens, Prince Chidi, has appreciated friends and well wishers of the club for their support to the team.

Speaking to Wakawaka Sports Extra at the Sports City in Owerri, Prince Chidi said upon the return of the team from the NWFL Nationwide play-off in Benin City, where they became the best among the 16 teams that took part in the play off by winning all her games.

The play-off saw striker, Harmony Achifula, set a new national record by scoring 10 goals in four matches with seven of the goals coming in one game.

He appreciated the various donors in different types of sports equipment and case to the team, such as Wisdom Dinho, Opara, Chidire Opara, Hon. Barr. Okey Onyekamma, Ndidi Nwaogu, Johnson Chibuike and Cool Breeze Hotel Port Harcourt.

The donors also expressed their willingness to associate with the club towards becoming a world class football club while lauding the impact made by the club in the last few months after its formation.

Chidi added that the team departed Imo State without full assurances on what the future hold as it is solely his responsibility which made it huge for him.

He therefore call on other individuals and corporations to assist the young team as they prepare for life in the big Nigeria Women Championship with the immediate need of mobility.
