The Nigeria Police Campaign against cultism- Deputy Rector hails Nigeria Police Force

The Nigeria Police Force have been commended for setting up Police Campaign Against cultism and other vices POCACOV in the country.

The Deputy Rector Federal Polytechnic Nekede  Dr. Chris Onyemenonu gave the commendations when he received members of POCACOV at the Institution.

Dr. Onyemenonu who represented the Rector of the Institution Engr.Michael C. Arimanwa commended the state volunteer group for visiting the institution.

He observed that the youths are gradually embracing negative tendencies and also becoming restive and engaging in other vices inimical to the societal norms and values which is affecting institutions of higher learning .

According to him the youths constitute the greater population of the institution.

He reiterated that effort which the institution has put in place to engage the students to a meaningful thing adding that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop

The Deputy Rector stated that the institution is ready to partner with the POCACOV in order to curb crimes and other vices in the institution .

Earlier in his speech ,the Imo State Chairman of POCACOV Volunteer Club (PVC) Comrade Kennedy Onwunali  enumerated some of the aims behind the setting up POCACOV,which is mainly to serve as NPF community policing initiative and a public relations tools in Advocacy , Awareness creation, Sensitizations, Reorientation and mentoring.

He said that POCACOV plays active role of helping in the areas mobilization, participation,partnership and problem solving as it concerns issues of cultism and other social vices prevalent amongst youth.
