The South East Representative in the Board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Mr Ugo Udezue, has predicted an improved and enhanced perfomance by the women national team D’Tigeress.
He stated that the D’Tigress are ready to take on any opponent in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup championship and ensure that the country is well represented.
He said, ” I believe that D’Tigress will perform well at the world championship because they are ready to give the nation a befitting outing.
” I understand that they will face tougher oppositions but that does not rule out the fact that they have all it takes to make us proud.”
Nigeria’s D’Tigress were drawn in Group B and will face France, Australia, Canada, Japan and Serbia in Sydney, Australia, between 22 September and 1 October 2022.
The top four teams progress to the quarter-finals with D’Tigress being the lowest rank team in the group.
