Heartland, Bayelsa tango in Queens’ test clash

Heartland Queens FC will confront NWFL Premiership side, three-time Nigerian champions and Aiteo Cup winners, Bayelsa Queens in what bookmakers will tag as one of the toughest preseason build-ups on Saturday, February 19 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Imo state.

The Owerri landladies are using the high profile build-up clash as part of her intensive preparations for the upcoming 2021/2022 NWFL Championship where 12 teams are expected to engage themselves in a titanic battle for the two available promotion tickets to the premium league.

And the Restoration Girls, the test match, too is huge in their expansive preparations to commence on high note the second and decisive term of the 2021/2022 NWFL Premiership season due to kick start on Wednesday, February 23.

Though the camaraderie among the teams and coaches will be in full display however the contest is expectedly going to be fierce due to the healthy and long existing rivalry.

The Imo state mainstream women football side have been quite impressive and unbeaten in the past four top grade friendlies to non-league side and 2022 Soccer Queens Cup champions, Imo Strikers Queens and NWFL Nationwide side, Ubakala Queens.

Heartland Queens still have several preseason test matches on the table in the days ahead as every hands is on deck including that of the sports loving state government to ensure the team experience quick, smooth and successful campaign at the upcoming domestic second tier league, NWFL Championship.
