Inter club friendly : Imo Strikers Queen held to 3-3 draw by Heartland Queens


Imo Strikers Queens were held to a 3-3 draw in the return leg of the inter club friendly match against Heartland Queens Football Club of Owerri in the midweek fixture.

The friendly match was scheduled in a bid to help prepare the two teams ahead of the upcoming major tournaments.

Imo strikers Queen will take part in the Soccer Queens Cup in Lokoja while Heartland Queens will be participating at the NWFL playoffs.

Imo strikers Queens is the newest female team in the state after coming on board some eight months ago.

Speaking to newsmen after the game, the proprietor of the team, Prince Chidi commended the efforts of the players for rising to the occasion to arrive at 3-3 draw with derby rivals Heartland Queens, and this means they have learnt a lot in the last few months and are expected to do better as a team.

The same optimism was shown at the tournament in Abuja during the Chief of Naval staff Tournament in Abuja late last year were they won they bronze medal. Cordinator of the team Nelly Orisakwe Commended the girls for putting up a good performances at the game and wish the corporation between the two teams continues to grow.
