History was made today, Sunday 28, November, 2021 as the Chairman of POCACOV VOLUNTEER CLUB, Anambra State, Prince Orjika Donatus, alongside some Executive members paid a courtesy visit to HRH, Igwe Oranu, Chris Chidume (EzeIgurube N’Omor) at his palace, Omor, AYAMELUM LGA, Anambra State.
The team which comprise of the State Chairman, Prince Orjika Donatus, The media Assistance, Mazi Odera Chidi, Comrade Okadigbo- (Secretary,)
Mr Benson (the Administrative Secretary), and Lady Linder Chukwu, (Welfare) arrived the palace at about 12pm.
The team was warmly received by the revered Monarch and presented a carton of the POCACOV 2021/2022 Calendar/ Programs Brochure as gift to the Igwe.
In his opening remarks, the State POCACOV VOLUNTEER CLUB Chairman, Prince Orjika, thanked the Royal Father for giving them audience at such a short notice and went ahead to state the essence of their mission which he said was to abreast him of their intention to kickstart POCACOV activity tagged, POCACOV in my Community program. This is a Community driven activity designed by POCACOV, the NPF community policing initiatives to network with Stakeholders and multiagencies in the community to enhance participations and problem solving of issues relating to Cultism, substance and drugs abuse, violent behaviours, sexual and gender based violence amongst others. It aimed at helping the common man and particularly the youths to live a happy, fulfilled life.
Speaking in same vein , Mazi Okadigbo-the Secretary of State POCACOV VOLUNTEER CLUB, further informed the Monarch that the Organization appreciates his numerous contributions in the Industrial sector of the state and for transforming his Community, Omor into a multi billion Naira rice producing Community. He intimated him of decision of the Stakeholders of Anambra POCACOV to head the POCACOV VOLUNTEER ADVISORY BOARD as Chairman so as to use his experience, exhalted dignity, influence and power to help the state Chapter galvanise the Stakeholders and the needed supports into objective actions; aimed at tackling conscientiously, the menace of Drugs Abuse, Cultism and other Social Vices in the state.
In reactions, HRH, Igwe C. C Oranu thanked the team Leader Prince Orjika Donatus and members for their forthrightness and commitment as Volunteers and for coming and also for nominating him as a worthy servant to Chair the State POCACOV Stakeholders Advisory Board and promised to galvanise and work closely with other members and Stakeholders in the state to trickle down the message of POCACOV- in-my-Community Program to the grassroots and beginning with his own Community, Omor. He said most of his poeple are resident at home and needed such good program to maximise their potentials. He assured the Team of the needed leadership and support to get the State POCACOV National Summit and inauguration done in which the top hierarchies of the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant Stakeholders, were expected to attend! He promised to get back to us soonest.
The State Media Assistant, Mazi Odera Chidi- thanked His Royal Highness once again for his selfless commitment to the program and the welfare of his poeple.
