The Saturday Tennis Family Junior tennis championship, going on at the standard tennis development club Owerri powered by members of the Saturday tennis players is aimed at discovering young talented tennis players in Imo state .
The chairman of the tennis players, Mr Emeka Ohazirike admitted this fact to newsmen in a statement made during the weekend.
He said they took the decision after watching how skillful the young kids playing tennis at the club are and discovering that there were no opportunity for them to display what they have learnt from the coach who work day and night to put them in shape.

The association decided to set out to host the competition to assist in harnessing their potential for the better use of the society .
The tournament which ongoing at the club will return till the end of the year.
Also adding his voice on the reason he decided to embrace the young kids, Imo state tennis Coach, George Sibigam said he decided to embrace the kids as a way to find suitable replacement for the aged players in the state, which if not done may spell doom for the state in the future.
He said that he believes in the ability of the kids from their ranks to replace the aged players in the state now, who may have been around for a long time.
