POCACOV concludes 'You can be a champion' campaign in Udi Abia secondary school

A community driven Activity of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) known as POCACOV IN MY SCHOOL carried out in partnership with Udi Youth Council (UYC) tagged “YOU CAN BE A CHAMPION’ for all the secondary schools in udi local government communities of Enugu state ,came to the end in grand style at Udi Abia Comprehensive Secondary school of Udi local Government Area on Thursday 18th November,2021.

The 3 day activity which began on 16/11/2021 featured competitions in the following event like DEBATE,QUIZ COMPETITIONS and Essay writing and duly observed by the representatives from post primary secondary management Board (PPSMB).It also featured competitions at preliminary levels then graduating to quarter, semi and finals. The students debated ,wrote essays and quiz which was centered on the dangers of cultism, substance and drug Abuse, violent behaviors, Examination malpractice and other vices. The debate was built around integrity and Self Discovery for Value Reorientation ,Self Discovery and Strategic Leadership direction for a better society. In the final results  that ensued out of the grand finale activity on 18/11/2021,Community Secondary  school Affa  grabbed the firt position  in Debate competition, The second position  was attained by  Community Secondary School  Awhum while the third Position  went to Community Comprehensive Secondary School Obinagu Udi.
On Quiz Competition, Comprehensive High School Udi /Abia  grabbed the first position ,The second position went to Community Secondary school, Egede just as Comprehensive High School  Ukana came third.
The first position for essay writing went to  Comprehensive High School Ukana, The second position  was grabbed by comprehensive High School UDI/Abia  just as Community  Secondary school Amokwu Affa grabbed the third position. Each of the schools were presented with  cheques of the price money attached to each of the positions for First,Second and Third in both the Debate,Quiz and Essay Writing Courtesy of the Deputy Governor of Enugu state ,Her Excellency Lolo (BARR.) Cecilia Ezeilo.


In her Remark ,the Deputy Governor of Enugu state Lolo (Barr) Cecilia Ezeilo who was represented by Ekwueme Chinedu Ernest a lecturer with the Institute of management  and Technology (IMT) commended all the school for their participations even with their teachers  and gave kudos to those that emerged victorious at the final activity. She maintained that the activity is a great effort towards catching our young minds early and repositioning their mindset for a greater society which is part of the cardinal objectives of Enugu state Government under the leadership of the Governor Rt Hon Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and commended the Nigeria Police Force on POCACOV initiative which is impacting on the youths /Young Minds. She also commended Udi Youth Council (UYC) for taking the bold step and their partnership with POCACOV and other Stakeholders for the activity.
Earlier,the President of Udi Youth Council Arinze Odoh had welcomed all to the grand finale of the activity on behalf of his executive and thanked the Deputy Governor of Enugu State LOLO (Barr) Cecilia Ezeilo for helping to make the three Days activity a successful one through her support. He also thanked the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) for technical and resource support of the activity and gave kudos to the Nigeria Police Force for coming up with the wonderful initiative like POCACOV. He also thanked post primary school management board (PPSMB) Enugu state for their support and attendance.
Delivering his speech tagged POCACOV PASSION TALK, the  National Coordinator POCACOV CSP Ebere Amaraizu charged students to always strive not to involve themselves with those negative tendencies which will make them to loose focus and direction
