Sequel to the command’s commitments to step down the tide of crime and criminality in the state, to ensure that Imolites observed a crime free yuletide season. The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Rabiu Hussaini psc, directed the command’s tactical teams to embark on vigorous stop and search patrols of the nooks and crannies of the state.
On 01/11/ 2021 at about 1300 hours, the command’s tactical teams in line with the Commissioner of Police directives, while on aggressive patrols along Isu-Njaba road, arrested two young men OBIAKA UCHENNA ‘m’ age 23 years of Isiozi Umuaka in Isu Njaba LGA of Imo State and MICHAEL IHUNNA ‘m’ age 24 years of Uba Umuaka in Isu Njaba LGA of Imo State respectively, whom information revealed that, they are the ones robbing unsuspecting victims along Isu-Njaba road of the state.
On searching them the following items were recovered which includes :
1. Two (2) locally made pistols
2. One (1) live cartridge
3. One (1) expanded cartridge
4. One (1) Jack knife
5. One Pax POS Machine
6. Some quantity of weed suspected to be Indian Hemp
7. Two (2) MTN Sim Cards
8. Two (2) Airtel Sim Cards
9. Two (2) Memory Cards
10. One (1) Infinix Charger
11. One (1) Wrist Watch
12. One (1) Bangle
13. One (1) white cap
14. Two (2) flat slippers
15. Four (4) screw drivers
The suspects were brought to the station and on interrogation, they confessed to the crime and mentioned one OZOR NWAKO ‘m’ a welder , as the one who use to manufacture and sell the locally made guns to criminals . They admitted to have bought the two recovered guns from him.
On 02/11/2021 at about 1430 hours , the ever gallant tactical teams stormed the house of the locally made guns manufacturer , OZOR NWAKO ‘m’ of Isiozi Umuakachi in Isu Njaba LGA of Imo State, where he was arrested and his house and premises searched. A generating set was recovered and brought to the station.
Investigation is ongoing and efforts are on top gear to arrest other members of their gang mention during interrogation . However, as soon as investigation is concluded the suspects will be charge to court .
The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Rabiu Hussaini psc, while commending the operatives for their proactiveness and a job well-done, charged them to intensify their patrols and make sure it is intelligence led patrols .
