Imo strikers Queen gear up for cheif of Naval Officers under-17 football tournament

Imo strikes Queens football club of Imo state will depart Imo state for the chief of Navy staff / Naval Officers Wives under 17 female football tournament in Abuja on the 20th of November 2021.

The Imo state Commissioner for youth and Sports disclosed this to newsmen.
Proprietor of the youngest woman team in the country Prince Chidi said the team is in the business of growing young players for the future and said the chief of navel staff competition will afford the team the opportunity to consolidate on the gain already made by the team at the national youth game were they contributed much of the players that won silver for the state at the games.

The team coordinator and former IGP Baby’s player Nelly Orisakwe said the team is working on a project that will stand the test of time, with emphasis on growing young players for future development of the game.

He was also amazed by the performance of the girls during the zonal qualifying games in Ebonyi and during the festival, where some players from other teams were drafted in to fortify the team and they went on to win silver at the youth games.

Nelly who in her playing days was a strong defender for the IGP Queens said the team in the last few months has discovered some couple of players from the secondary schools across the state were screening was staged.

With the help of the proprietor providing the needed support, the team was able to secure a camp and training ground for the team, which in turn has made putting the team together a possibility.

Prince Chidi a former China based player said the team will be completing in every competition in the state and country in the next one year after every aspect of the team has been put in place as a professional club side.

Hon Dan Ogu who was happy with the team officers for setting a standard for the state of football in the state and ask them to keep up the good work as the government of Imo state will keep supporting the team in their plans.
