Imo Economic Summit Group in Leadership Change; Announces Webinar & Summit Elects Dr. Okey Nwuke, Non-Executive Director at Access Bank as Chairman

The Imo Economic Summit Group (IESG) has elected new leadership to steer her affairs. Dr. Okey Nwuke (Deputy Group Managing Director, Coscharis Group Ltd, Non-Executive Director, Access Bank Plc & Adjunct Faculty at Lagos Business School) was elected as Chairman while Dr. Kachi Nwoga (founder of MedSoft and VP of the Nextzon Group) will serve as Vice Chairman. Mr. CNC Nwachukwu (erstwhile banker, Pastor and Chartered Accountant) returned as Director of Finance, Mazi Chinedu Okpareke, PhD (Managing Director of Amazon Energy Group and Secretary-General of Arondizuogu Patriotic Union) will serve as Director of Programs and Mr. Uche Aniche (Convener, #StartupSouth & Co-Founder, SSE Angel Network) will serve as Director of Communication.

Speaking at the occasion, Board of Trustee member & Founding Chairman, HRH (Dr) Patrick Acholonu, The Igwe of Orlu, expressed confidence in the new leadership’s ability to steer the ship and deliver on the mandate of IESG. He called on all members and the general public to support them.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President Dr. Okey Nwuke, thanked the founding Chairman and his team for setting up the foundation of IESG and pledged the in-coming team’s commitment to the goals and objectives of IESG. He thanked members of the group for the confidence reposed on them. Dr Nwuke added that IESG under his leadership will work with relevant stakeholders towards the attainment of an economically viable and prosperous Imo state.

Dr. Nwuke’s new leadership team used the occasion to announce a set of activities that include membership revalidation exercise, a webinar slated for November 30, 2021 and her annual Economic Summit slated for January 3, 2022.

The maiden Imo Economic Summit by IESG was held on January 2, 2020 at Protea Hotel Owerri.
