The atmosphere at Girls Secondary School, Akwakuma in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State was charged with excitement and renewed hope on Thursday, October 23, 2025, as the Tasieobi Global Foundation took its Back To School Project ’25 to the school — the 14th stop in its ongoing educational intervention tour across Akwa Ibom, Abia, and Imo States.
The visit was more than a donation exercise; it was a morning of inspiration, mentorship, and motivation. The Foundation’s Founder and Director, Mr. Elvis Tasieobi, stood before hundreds of eager young girls and spoke about the power of diligence, self-belief, and perseverance — virtues he said were essential for any individual seeking to rise above life’s limitations.
Drawing from the school’s motto, “Rise and Shine,” Tasieobi urged the students to live out its message in their daily pursuits. “Whatever situation you find yourself in, do not compare yourself to others,” he told them. “Use every circumstance as leverage to grow. Some of you may not complete the same academic journey, but however life unfolds, rise with it and make the best out of it — for yourself and your community.”
His message, simple yet profound, resonated with the students who listened in silence, occasionally breaking into applause. Tasieobi illustrated his talk with real-life examples, including the story of Steve Jobs, Apple’s co-founder, who despite battling cancer, remained committed to his vision until his death in 2011. The story, he said, reflected how great individuals often emerge from trials, not ease.
Beyond motivation, the Foundation’s Director also issued a word of caution — reminding the students about the dangers of addiction, peer pressure, and the growing distractions of social media. “No one can make you better except your own belief and effort,” he added, urging them to take charge of their growth and destiny.
The interactive session culminated in the distribution of learning support packs, a gesture that lit up the faces of the students, whose joy mirrored the Foundation’s purpose — to ignite hope and bridge educational gaps among young learners in underserved communities.
Speaking after the event, Tasieobi expressed gratitude to the Foundation’s partners, sponsors, and volunteers, noting that their commitment and goodwill continue to make the project possible. “This is about more than giving materials,” he said. “It’s about building minds that will one day give back to society.”
As the Back To School Project ’25 moves to its final stop in Imo State — Town School, Okporo — the Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to transform lives, one school at a time.
