The serene community of Amorji Olakwo, Enyiogugu, in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, was on Monday, October 20, 2025, filled with emotion and reverence as the Bishop of Ahiara Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, CMF, led priests, religious and lay faithful on a condolence visit to the family of the late Rt. Rev. Monsignor Theophilus Akujuobi Nwalo, aged 87.
The Bishop’s delegation, which included representatives from all deaneries, parishes, and institutions associated with the late Monsignor, arrived at the Nwalo family home in a show of unity and pastoral solidarity. The visit, observers noted, reflected the high esteem in which the late cleric was held within the Catholic community.
Members of the Nwalo family, moved by the display of love and respect, expressed deep appreciation to Bishop Nwobi and the entire Ahiara Diocese for standing by them during their moment of grief. They described the visit as a comforting reminder of the late Monsignor’s enduring legacy of faith, humility, and service.
Prayers were offered for the repose of Msgr. Nwalo’s soul, while various groups made presentations of condolence gifts and tributes that highlighted his decades of priestly dedication and moral uprightness.
His name, many said, remains synonymous with simplicity, discipline, and pastoral excellence.
According to the diocesan burial arrangement, the funeral Mass for Msgr. Theophilus Akujuobi Nwalo will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Mater Ecclesiae Cathedral, Ahiara Mbaise.
