SPORTS COMMISSIONER ONYEOCHA RETURNS FROM PILGRIMAGE, SAYS HE’S SPIRITUALLY ENRICHED, THANKS GOV. UZODINMA, PRESIDENT TINUBU*

The Honourable Commissioner for Sports Development, Imo State, Hon. Obinna Onyeocha says he is “highly and spiritually enriched” participating in the 2nd batch of the pilgrimage to Jordan and Israel.

Onyeocha who arrived Owerri, the Imo State capital Tuesday along with other pilgrims said they toured all relevant sites in both holy lands visited, and while there, prayed for his principal, Governor Hope Uzodinma and Imolites.

Onyeocha described the gesture of the Governor’s sponsorship of the pilgrims as a demonstration of his commitment to the spiritual and moral well-being of the people of Imo State.

“The governor’s support for the pilgrimage reflects his belief that genuine development must include the spiritual upliftment of citizens alongside physical and economic growth”, he stated.

“I returned spiritually enriched, with renewed faith and a deeper connection with God. Same as all the pilgrims. This initiative is a compassionate and people-oriented decision that underscores the governor’s holistic approach to governance.”

Onyeocha further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his sustained support for national pilgrimage programmes, noting that the President’s inclusive approach to both Christian and Muslim pilgrimages promotes religious harmony and national unity.

“Governor Uzodinma’s action sets a positive example for other state leaders to emulate,” Onyeocha stated, adding that such initiatives help strengthen the moral fabric and social stability of society.
