IMO GOVERNMENT FLAGS OFF SECOND ROUND OF NATIONAL IMMUNIZATION PLUS DAYS IN ABOH MBAISE

By Silvernews

The Government of Imo State, through the Primary Health Care Department of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, has officially commenced the second round of the 2025 National Immunization Plus Days (NIPDS). The exercise runs from Saturday, June 28 to Tuesday, July 1, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.

Organized by the Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency in collaboration with health partners, the campaign targets children aged 0 to 59 months (under 5 years) for oral polio vaccine (Nopv2) and children aged 0 to 11 months for injectable routine immunization.

Health workers will visit homes, health centers, schools, markets, churches, and other community locations to administer the vaccines and ensure no child is left out.

“All immunization is safe, effective, and free,” emphasized Mrs. Nnabugwu Chinwe, the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) and PHC Coordinator for Aboh Mbaise LGA. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their child’s immunization cards for proper documentation.

Adding his voice to the public mobilization, High Chief Romanus Owuamanam Chikwendu, President General, Ngurunwenkwo Development Union, issued an appeal urging everyone to spread the word:

Implementation of the second phase of National Immunization Plus Days (NIPDS) is starting today, 28th June – 1st July 2025. Please share in all the platforms you belong to and let people around you know. Thank you.”

This immunization drive reaffirms the government’s continued commitment to child health and disease prevention across Imo State.
