Ogbe, Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria – March 30, 2025 (Silvernews)
David Omenukor Foundation (DOF), in collaboration with Destinee Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (DMDL), is set to host a Blue Hat Bow Tie for Colorectal Cancer Awareness event in Ogbe, Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State, on March 30, 2025. This initiative aims to share vital information and raise awareness about colorectal cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention.
We invite everyone to join us in wearing their favorite blue hat or bow tie as a show of solidarity in the fight against colorectal cancer. The event will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ogbe, a central hub for the community, including meat sellers, and will coincide with Mother’s Day celebrations—an opportunity to highlight the importance of health awareness for families.
The Blue Hat Bow Tie campaign was founded more than a decade ago by colorectal cancer survivor Candace Henley as a way to encourage screening and awareness within her church community. Today, patients, survivors, and advocates worldwide are continuing this movement, using blue hats and bow ties as symbols of hope and education.
