Yesterday, at the instance of the LGA Party Chairman, Sir Tony Awusaku KSJI, JP, plethora of Councillorship Aspirants from the 12 Wards in Aboh Mbaise LGA met at the LGA Party Secretariat were they had an interface and interactive session with the Leadership of the Party preparatory to the forthcoming LGA election.
The LGA Party Chairman thanked them for making out time to be present at the meeting at the shortest notice despite their tight schedules. He congratulated them for their boldness, courage, zeal, and enthusiasm to embark on this political enterprise that is capital intensive. Continuing, he informed them that the forthcoming LGA election has fired up the Party once again at all levels.
He therefore encouraged them to leverage on this golden opportunity to go about their campaigns and politicking responsibly devoid of hate speeches, blackmails, unnecessary vituperations, falsehood, and fabricated lies aimed at discrediting and disparaging other aspirants; but rather, channel their energies and time, engaging with Party Faithfuls and Critical Stakeholders with their blueprints on why they should be voted for and what they would do for the people if elected eventually.
In his wisdom, the LGA Party Chairman informed the Aspirants on the need for them to harmonize within their Wards in order to have a formidable front going forward. At this point, he asked all the Aspirants to meet with their different Ward Chairmen separately for the needed harmonization if any. But at the end of the whole exercise, all the Aspirants unequivocally and with voice votes, chose to go to the field and battle it out. They solicited of the Leadership of the Party to give all Aspirants the level playing ground to aspire.
On this, the LGA Party Chairman told them that all Aspirants would be given level playing ground, while the Party will adhere strictly to any directive given to them by the Leadership of the Party at the State Level concerning the election. He charged them to be committed, dedicated and loyal Party Men and Women even after the elections.
Some of the Aspirants that spoke appreciated the LGA Party Chairman for his dedication and leadership style. They equally pledged to abide by the directive that will be given by the Party with regard to the election because Party is supreme.
Going forward, the LGA Party Chairman urged all of them to imbibe the Spirit of Sportsmanship and camaraderie so that those that will emerge will appreciate those that will not emerge so that we have a united and Strong Party at all levels devoid of acrimony and bitterness. In his words, there are window of opportunities within the Party for Aspirants that will not emerge at the end of the day.
While admonishing the Aspirants, the Enyiogugu Ward Chairman and Hon. Ogechi M. Ebegu respectively charged them to play by the rules because it is not a do or die affair. They equally enjoined them not to engage in activities that may over heat the polity in their different Wards for the interest of the Party and for their own good as well.
The GWLO of Ngurunwenkwo Ward, Hon. Ezinwa Kelechi Osuji (ALAABISH) toeing the same line, encouraged them to be real Party people and engage in healthy and objective politicking to avoid having issues with people and fellow Aspirants.
In his Vote of Thanks, on behalf of other Aspirants, Hon. Odinakachi P. Nwarukwem from Ibeku Ward thanked the Leadership of the Party for the insightful and thoughtful Meeting; while promising once again that All Aspirants will play according to the rules and adhere strictly to any directive the Party will give concerning the LGA election.
The meeting finally agreed to make Newspaper publications as regards the resolutions reached as they concern the election.
It was a well attended interactive session which gave the Aspirants the needed insights and strategies on how to approach the election proper.
