Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, the newly appointed G.M/CEO of Rangers International F.C. has promised to run an open-door policy where every supporter and fan of the club will have a sense of belonging.

In an interview with Wakawaka Sports Extra on Global FM Sports Update, the UEFA and FIFA Masters certificate in club administration holder assured that he won’t compromise in discharging his duties effectively.

According to him, the club would be internationalised and commercialised to attract sponsors adding that the ‘Flying Antelopes’ would be run as a true professional team.

“I will like to thank God and thank the governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah for this appointment. In my first moment as the Team Manager of Rangers in 2015, I came and saw that certain things needed to be done like players welfare and building the trust in the players.

“We will serve the people, the fans. The fact that I am the CEO of Rangers doesn’t remove the fact as a child, I fell in love with Rangers. It’s a club after my heart and a club that I can give up my life for. I would do my best to push Rangers to the place it ought to be, internationalise Rangers, commercialise Rangers to make sure we get as many sponsors as possible, to redefine the youth team system.

“We want to establish a women football team, we want to take the club back to the people because the people own the club, the supporters own the club. We want to continue to let them know they can trust us.”

While rolling out his four-year strategic plan for the club, he urged teeming supporters of Rangers to rally behind the club towards becoming one of the most admired and followed club in the African continent and the world at large.

“When I showcased my strategic plans for four years. The plans will be achieved through three standing which the club called ‘Rangers Trinity’ of C, S, & C. The first ‘C’ stands for Commercial Development the ‘S’ stands for Sporting Excellence and the last ‘C’ stands for Community Social Impact.

“We made it clear that we are not going to compromise on anything because our integrity matters here. FIFA, CAF, UEFA is watching. I have the integrity from FIFA and UEFA and I cannot risk that on the altar of anything.

“What we want to do with the current position of Rangers with the support of the state governor who has assured me he will give Rangers the needed support. We want to have a club that at the end of the season we will organise an Annual General Meeting and publish our audited account.

“Football is not a secret society, we have to be open to the people, run an open-door policy and let the world enjoy what it means to really play true professional football in Nigeria and when we get the professionalism right, we can succeed on the continent and the world.

“The first step is to go social media and follow the club and we have members registration on our website. And to supporters of Rangers from the 50s and so on, you have to be assured that Rangers is in safe hands, come to us, call us and we are here to serve the people and my administration will serve the people to the core. Every supporter of Rangers will have a sense of belonging because this club belongs to them.”
