It’s been 10 years since you left us, and it seems like just yesterday. Not a day passes without remembering you and wish we could tell you how much you mean to us. Your love offered us comfort during tough times, but even now, we are still comforted knowing that you’re in a better place. Your memory is never far from us, just like the smile on your face in our family photos. Your life here on earth was a mystery and may seem to have ended, but your legacy of wisdom, good deeds, integrity, and courage lives on forever. You will forever be in our hearts.
To immortalize you and your great legacies, we established the David Omenukor foundation as a platform to create awareness on colorectal cancer and to promote research into its causes, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and cure. The goal is to support those affected by colorectal cancer and encourage health-promoting behaviors such as getting screened, staying active, and eating a balanced diet.
As we remember you today, we renew our determination to continue to fight colorectal cancer and other forms of cancers to make the world a better place and in honor of your name and gallant battle against the disease. Our daily campaign to create awareness about colorectal cancer and all other types of cancer by increasing screenings is meant to decrease mortality rates. As we continue World Cancer Day activities, we urge people to go get screened.” Don’t wait for symptoms, Get screened!”
