Hon Ngozi Pat-Ekeji bags chieftiancy title in Mbaise

It was an atmosphere of glamour and glitz as the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on Strategy and Development, Hon. Barr. Ngozi Pat-Ekeji bagged a chieftiancy title in her hometown.

The people of Agunaeze in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of the state, recognised one of their illustrious daughters, who has served to the development of the state in all ramifications as Ada puru iche of Agunaeze

Speaking with www.silvernews.com.ng shortly after being confered with the title, the former Minority Leader in the Imo State House of Assembly, expressed joy for being recognised by her people.

The wife to Nigeria Sports guru, Dr. Patrick Ekeji noted that she enjoys making impacts by contributing to the success and development of the state.

Her words: “To be recognised by your people is a great achievement. I thank God for that. As a mother you have to play your role well for your family and the society that I think made my people to find me qualified for the title which means much to me and my family and the people of Nguru Nwenkwo where I am married. It’s pleasurable to know that you have touched people’s lives positively one way or the other.”

Speaking on her experience growing the home front where the husband was always away on national duty: “It was not easy period but we overcame it and here we are there today as a mother you should be strong to led the home front and direct the kids the way the family plan they should fellow.” She said.

On her time in the State House of Assembly: “It was a good period for me. I enjoyed contributing to the success and development of the state. The impact is that when I go somewhere another person will say what I did for him or her.”

Speaking on her contribution to the success of the Imo State Government, she maintained her humble self by saying: “I’m just one of the aides of the governor who contribute her quote to the development of the state through the way forward. On her future political ambition she said We trust in God and believe things will always be better.”

In the same vein, one of her daughters, Kelechi Ekeji said it was a huge honour for the people of Agunaeze to recognise her mother, who has selflessly contributed to the growth of the community.

While acknowledging her for being a wonderful mother even when their father is always on a national assignment, she enjoined other mothers to continue being good mothers and act as role models to their children.

 

She said: “I feel incredibly proud. I feel blessed to be her daughter to be able to see this for myself. Those of us that knows her personally knows how incredible she is, how selfless she is and how she goes above and beyond for community, her family even strangers. It’s nice to see that effort be acknowledge in a place that she is from.

“She treasures her hometown so much. I’m just incredibly grateful and thankful to the community for giving this honour to my mum.

“We never felt that dad was not around because mum held down. She operated as unit. You could be assured that whatever was happening in the house will not go under the radar of either one of them. We grew up feeling the presence of both regardless of whoever that is around.”

She urged mothers to continue to do what they do. “Your kids see you and appreciates all your efforts. It doesn’t go unnoticed. Hopefully, by the special grace of God, one day they will be able to repay you either through appreciation or special recognition such as this. Keep the flag flying because we need mothers like you.”

The ceremony was withnesse by friends of the family from Nigeria and disposal. including the son Mr Chika Ekeji.
